Logistics and Material Flow Engineer
Main purpose of the job
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing efficient and cost-effective systems for the distribution of goods and services. They analyse current systems and create strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service. Logistics Engineers are often tasked with finding new ways to streamline the supply chain process, reducing waste and improving customer satisfaction. They must have a thorough understanding of logistics principles and be proficient in engineering and data analysis to identify opportunities for improvements. Logistics Engineers must be able to clearly and effectively communicate their ideas and strategies to management.
Main missions and results
Logistics engineers are responsible for the efficient movement and storage of goods and materials from one location to another. They design and implement logistics systems, troubleshoot any problems, and optimize operations. They also analyse data to ensure that operations are running smoothly and cost-effectively.
• Design and implement logistics systems.

Preferred skills and experience
• Significant experience in supervision within a manufacturing environment, and has detailed knowledge of vendor scheduling, supplier recovery planning, materials planning, supplier recovery and escalation management.
• Relevant degree level qualification in supply chain management or procurement or comparable education and track record in materials planning or scheduling at a supervisory level.
• Knowledge of lean logistics and lean production principles in general (e.g., FISS, ideas and principles of Production Systems).
• Excellent communicator both written and verbal at all levels in English with ability to hold people to account.
• Is hands-on when required / pragmatic with good attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communicator, both written and verbal at all levels in English.
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft packages.
• Sound understanding of Quality, Business and OEM systems/standards.
• Self-driven, with an enthusiastic approach and positive attitude able to support and encourage others.
