Job summary

The Best Connection is hiring a Logistics Administrator for our busy operation in Dalton, Thirsk. The role focuses on coordinating deliveries, liaising with drivers, and providing strong admin support to the Operations Managers.

You will use in-house systems and Microsoft Office, with a Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:00pm schedule. A reliable, punctual candidate with logistics experience is preferred and own transport is ideal for this location.

Qualifications

• Previous logistics and administrative experience is essential.
• Excellent IT skills, including experience using Microsoft packages.
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
• Friendly, polite, and approachable manner.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work to deadlines and targets.
• Confident communicating with drivers and colleagues.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Must be available to work Monday to Friday.
• Own transport is ideal due to the location and working hours.

Responsibilities

• Use in-house systems and Microsoft Office packages.
• Liaise with drivers and support inbound and outbound deliveries.
• Provide admin support to Operations Managers.
• Work to targets and ensure daily duties are completed within required timescales.
• Complete general admin duties, including filing and maintaining records.
• Answer emails and telephone calls.
• Provide general office support where required.
• Work closely with the wider logistics team to ensure operations run smoothly.
• Be comfortable standing and staying active throughout the day.
