The Logistics Administrator will be supporting the daily Logistics tasks. This covers multiple projects throughout the business and working closely with our internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
The duties of a Logistics Administrator are tailored to tasks within Logistics, and the tasks within each service area:

  • Support Allocation and Briefing administration tasks.
  • Booking briefing venues and catering
  • Arrange the travel requirements and overnight accommodation for attendees
  • Manage stock quantities for briefings.
  • Setting up and processing Allocations/Briefings/Training, using internal software.
  • Updating planners
  • Distributing regular email reminders for events.
  • Preparation and collation of pack and general conference materials before events.
  • Liaising with the project management team to ensure meeting requirements are met.
  • Carry out regular stock counts and quality control.
  • Some lifting of heavy boxes will be involved.
  • Sending/receiving emails and making/answering calls.
  • Create purchase orders.
  • Help with other departments when required.
  • Computer literacy in the application of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to pick up bespoke systems.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Teamwork – a team player who can play an active role in a dynamic team.
  • Experience with data entry and management systems.
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other Duties
  • To perform any other reasonable duties that NatCen may require that are consistent with the broad nature of the job.
  • Timely, accurate communication and ownership of all live projects’ responsibilities that sit within this role.
  • Dealing with queries and emails from freelancers, staff and internal/external customers, including arranging supplies and quotes.

Essential skills and attributes criteria
  • Education to GCSE level, equivalent, or above.
  • Experience working in a multi-tasked administrative role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of IT literacy (incl. MS Office suite applications).
  • Effective team worker.
  • Proactive and highly motivated to deliver task outcomes successfully.
  • Resilient in the face of setbacks and challenges.
