Logistics Administrator

Your new company
Hays are working with a large distribution business who are looking for a Logistics Administrator on a permanent basis. This is an exciting role working as part of a busy friendly office.

Your new role
As a Logistics Administrator your role will involve:

  1. Arrange deliveries and collections using approved suppliers available.
  2. Book deliveries with customers.
  3. Manage and maintain all relevant records.
  4. Track shipment progress.
  5. Ensure that consignments are routed in a cost effective way, whilst adhering to expected transit times.
  6. Deal with all supplier/internal queries professionally and efficiently both on email and via telephone.
  7. Use of National Suppliers Agreements and rates.
  8. Arrange service upgrades.
  9. Re-allocate collections and deliveries as and where needed.
  10. Liaise with the warehouse team, and other departments in a polite and professional manner.
  11. Solving any issues arising during the day and escalating to Warehouse Supervisor and/or First Line Manager if necessary.
  12. Check all shipment documentation.
  13. Reviewing the stock check and taking appropriate action.
  14. Work on providing cost effective solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and continuity of service.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Knowledge & experience of working in a Road Freight environment.
  • Experience of working within a customer facing environment.
  • Good knowledge of geographical areas within the UK.
  • High level of accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under own initiative.
  • Competent in commercial IT packages including Word, Excel.
