A leading water services company is seeking a Logistics Planning Manager to oversee and optimize logistics operations from their Peterborough location. This is a key leadership role to ensure efficient supply chain processes, drive improvements and manage a talented team focused on delivering essential services. Salary Circa £65k, salary depending on skills and experience

Operating 24/7 from our Central Distribution Centre (CDC) in Peterborough, we ensure vital materials and spare parts reach every corner of the business to keep the taps running and the environment protected. As our Logistics Planning Manager, you’ll lead the charge, guiding a skilled planning team to keep our warehouses stocked and our frontline teams fully equipped. What You’ll Be Doing
As our Logistics Planning Manager, you'll take the lead in making sure the right materials are in the right place, at the right time – every time. Your key responsibilities will include:
Driving supplier performance: Build strong relationships across suppliers, procurement, and internal teams to keep materials moving and resolve issues before they become problems.
Optimising inventory: Manage over 6,000 stock items, supporting strategic projects and emergency readiness while reducing waste and overstock across our depots.
Improving data and systems: Ensure material records are accurate and up to date, enabling better decisions and smoother operations across the supply chain.
Leading a high-performing team: Develop and inspire your team to deliver exceptional service to internal customers, support strategic planning, and shape the future of logistics at Anglian Water.
You’ll also play a key role in shaping our logistics strategy, supporting business growth, and being part of our 24/7 emergency support rota to help keep services running when they’re needed most.
What does it take to be a Logistics Planning Manager?
We’re seeking an experienced logistics professional with a sharp eye for detail, a passion for continuous improvement, and a collaborative leadership style. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
Solid logistics and supply chain experience, including stock planning, supplier management, and warehouse operations.
Proven leadership and change management skills, with experience leading teams and driving process improvements.
Strong data capability, confident working with large data sets, SAP S/4HANA, and tools like Excel and Power BI.
A continuous improvement mindset, ideally with Lean Six Sigma or similar process optimisation experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the adaptability to handle challenges and unique operational events.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who leads by example, embraces change, and brings a positive, reliable, and supportive attitude to the team.
