Job summary

STS Aviation Services at Birmingham Airport is seeking a Logistics Operative to manage the control, storage, and movement of aircraft parts and consumables within the hangar. You will work closely with engineers and production teams to ensure materials are available on time and in full compliance with aviation standards.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in logistics/stores/warehouse (aviation preferred).
• Knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
• Familiar with aviation safety and compliance standards (EASA/CAA Part-145 desirable).
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Strong data entry and record-keeping accuracy.
• Competent IT skills including MS Office and stock systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and process incoming aircraft parts, materials, and consumables in accordance with company procedures and aviation standards
• Maintain accurate inventory records using company stock management systems
• Issue parts and tooling to engineers, ensuring all transactions are logged correctly
• Support the return and disposal of unserviceable parts in line with regulatory requirements
• Assist in managing stock levels, performing audits and cycle counts as required
• Ensure goods are stored safely and securely, following health, safety, and environmental standards
• Coordinate with procurement and production teams to support operational needs and minimise delays
• Operate material handling equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics and supply chain function

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of two years’ experience in a logistics, stores, or warehouse role (aviation experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and logistics operations
• Familiarity with aviation safety and compliance standards (EASA/CAA Part-145 desirable)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and record-keeping abilities
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and stock management systems

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday (early, late, or core hours shift pattern)
• Current logistics coverage: 07:00 – 18:00 (subject to operational change)
