Job description
Overview

The job plan will include care for Uro-oncology patients, focused on patients with prostate cancer. Cross-site working across NCEL (North Central and East London) sites will be required to support delivery of services across the network. This may require undertaking clinics and / or theatre lists at other NCEL sites, such as at Barking, Havering & Redbridge NHS Trust or Barts Health NHS Trust.

The post holder will have a specialist interest and clinical expertise in the management of prostate cancer and experience in performing robotic prostatectomy. CV required for the application.

Responsibilities
  • To ensure that services are responsive to the needs of patients and other service users and their families.
  • Where appropriate, to facilitate working arrangements between the subspecialty teams within the service.
  • To meet regularly with key members of the multidisciplinary team and support effective multidisciplinary team working.
  • To work closely with the DCD and management team to respond to and meet external standards relevant to the Service.
  • To support the college tutor and educational supervisor in junior medical staff issues training and performance.
  • To support the DCD, implement and monitor compliance plans to ensure that all junior medical staff within the Service are compliant with legal requirements.
  • To attend meetings as appropriate with the Divisional Clinical Director and management team.
  • In collaboration with the Clinical Lead and management team, to support the local implementation of the Trust objectives within the Division.
  • With the Divisional Clinical Director and management team, to support the service planning process for the Service and to ensure it meets its contractual and other performance requirements, e.g. waiting list targets, winter pressures and Cancer waiting times.
  • To be an active and supportive member within the Division, contributing to shared learning.
