Job summary

A Locum Clinical Fellow in Orthopaedics & Trauma is available in Birmingham with an ASAP start. The role provides full-time cover within a busy teaching hospital, working as part of a consultant-led team to deliver inpatient orthopaedic care, trauma cover, and on-call support.

Key duties include daily ward rounds, accurate notes, investigations, responding to emergencies, triage of acute referrals from A&E and GPs, and on-call duties on a 1-in-7 rota including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily consultant-led ward rounds delivering inpatient orthopaedic care.
• Maintain accurate patient notes and review investigations with the supervising consultant.
• Respond to pager alerts and support the team with clinical emergencies.
• Triage and assess acute orthopaedic referrals from A&E and GPs.
• Participate in trauma assessments and the 1-in-7 on-call rota, including weekends.
