Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust in Derriford Hospital seeks three locum consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeons to join the Peninsula Trauma Centre, a major trauma service within an expanding teaching hospital.

Candidates should have fellowship training or equivalent in major trauma, orthopaedic trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery; the posts involve leading teams, teaching and contributing to research as part of a dynamic department.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with European rights.
• Appropriate higher surgical qualification (trauma/orthopaedics).
• ETC provider (or equivalent) training.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of diagnosis and treatment to inpatients and outpatients in both trauma and elective surgery.
• Lead and work with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality care.
• Sustain teaching and research activities alongside clinical duties.
• Maintain adherence to Trust policies and service plans.

Education

Full GMC Registration, European Community Rights, an appropriate higher surgical qualification
