Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London is seeking a Locum Consultant Transplant Surgeon for a 12-month fixed-term post at Hammersmith Hospital. The role provides senior surgical capacity within the Renal and Transplant Directorate and uses a 5 PA job plan.

The post covers transplant work-up, renal access clinics, vascular access surgery and is involved in the transplant surgical on-call rota. Flexibility in working patterns and involvement in service improvement are available.

Qualifications

• Consultant-level experience in transplant surgery, with kidney transplantation expertise.
• GMC registration and eligibility to practice in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level care in kidney transplantation and renal access services.
• Undertake outpatient clinics including transplant work-up and dialysis access.
• Support elective operating lists for vascular access and renal surgery.
• Participate in transplant surgical on-call rota and emergency review.
• Contribute to governance, audit, teaching and service improvement.
