A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Locum Specialty Doctor for the South Wiltshire Intensive Service. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team focused on patient-centered care while providing clinical support to the Consultant Psychiatrist. The position entails community assessments, crisis management, and participation in ongoing professional development through supported CPD activities.
The Trust is seeking a Locum Speciality Doctor to work with the South Wiltshire Intensive Service. It is a great opportunity to gain a great deal of experience and knowledge working within an established multi-disciplinary team. Working with a team who believe in collaborative work and have the patient at the centre of their practise. The service provides a secondary assessment facility and a monitoring service for those who require crisis management and home treatment.
This post will provide support and clinical assistance to the Consultant Psychiatrist concerning the care of patients.
Salisbury has a weekly Academic programme. In addition, there is a monthly PDP group and Peer Supervision. CPD activities are supported. The post offers study leave arrangements as well as good research, service development and leadership opportunities.
Main duties of the job
To assess and treat service users in the community
Undertake urgent and crisis psychiatric assessments when necessary
To liaise with GPs regarding a service users medical monitoring results
To liaise with other parts of the service and GPs and non NHS organisations wherever applicable
To provide advice and consultation to members of the multi-disciplinary teams and regularly attend MDT meetings
Ensure effective and timely documentation and communication of clinical decision making and management plans
The Specialty Doctor will support the Consultant Psychiatrists in complex case management.
The post holder is expected to seek Section 12 approval, but this is not a requirement of the post
