Job summary
The Rotational Specialty doctor post aims to allow the trust to arrange additional medical support to a team at reasonably short notice for example in the event of illness or changes to trainee rotations while reducing use of agency doctors. As such the post holder is expected to be flexible and can be moved to a new service at reasonably short notice. The post therefore provides an opportunity for a wide variety of adult Psychiatry experience. Placements may vary in length but would usually be for 3 - 6 months minimum and the post is fixed term for 2 years to provide job security. The services will be limited by geographical area to reduce travel time for the candidate. The timetable for each post will vary but each post will be supervised by a consultant Psychiatrist and will include at least 1 session of SPA time for CPD-related activity, supervision of self or others, teaching, participation in governance within the trust. There are weekly lunchtime CPD events hosted by the Trust and Cambridge University which the candidate would be welcome to attend.
Main duties of the job
Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the evidence-based management of patients under supervision of consultant psychiatrist. To work with the multidisciplinary team and other teams within and outside the organisation in order to provide seamless patient care. Teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and other disciplines. To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance, audit and research. To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD), supervision and medical appraisal.

SERVICES YOU COULD BE PLACED IN
The directorate provides acute and primary and secondary community psychiatric care for patients between the ages of 18-65. We also provide specialist services including Learning Disabilities, Liaison Psychiatry, Eating Disorders, Forensic psychiatry, Personality disorder services, Early Intervention Psychosis and perinatal psychiatry. These services are across Cambridge and Peterborough but this post would be limited to those services in Peterborough and Huntingdon to limit travel time for the candidate.
Adult Community Care
Adult Community services are organised into locality teams aligned with GP surgeries and primary care. Cambridge North Adult Locality team: Union House, Cambridge Cambridge South Adult Locality team: Union House, Cambridge Huntingdon Adult Locality team: Newtown Centre, Huntingdon Fenland Adult Locality team: Agenoria House, Wisbech Peterborough & Borders Adult Locality team: Gloucester Centre, Peterborough. The locality teams have strong links with the GPs and primary care services through senior mental health clinicians (PRISM) working with groups of GP practices.
