Job description

Job Title: CAMHS Specialty Doctor - Neurodevelopmental Pathway (Fixed Term Locum)

This is an exciting, fixed-term locum post for a CAMHS Specialty Doctor within the Neurodevelopmental pathway, offering 4 sessions. The role supports assessment, diagnosis, and management of children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions, primarily ADHD and ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, including obtaining screening questionnaires and supporting diagnostic processes for ADHD and ASC.
  2. Participate in assessments such as QB tests and ADOS, and discuss outcomes in MDT meetings and with consultants.
  3. Support autism assessments and manage associated difficulties like sleep issues, anxiety, and challenging behaviors.
  4. Manage outpatient caseloads, contribute to care planning, and follow clinical policies and procedures.
  5. Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies, providing consultation and participating in supervision sessions.
  6. Contribute to a bio-psychosocial model of care, including history taking, mental state examinations, and physical assessments where appropriate.
  7. Utilize relevant legislation and frameworks, including the Care Programme Approach, Mental Health Act, Children Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
  8. Support the day-time duty rota, including prescribing and medication queries, without out-of-hours responsibilities.
