Position: Specialist Biomedical Scientist

Band: 6

Contract Duration: Asap - 2 months minimum

Location: Southeast England

It provides a range of medical services including emergency care, elective procedures, and outpatient services. Pay Mechanism: Direct Pay Mechanism

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced diagnostic tests and analyses in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Interpret and report results with accuracy and precision.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control and quality assurance protocols.
  • Collaborate with medical and healthcare professionals to support patient care.
  • Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures as required.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff and trainees.
  • Uphold and implement laboratory safety standards and practices.
  • Qualification: Degree in Biomedical Science or related field; HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • Experience: Proven recent experience of at least 1 year in NHS setup in a similar role within a clinical or hospital laboratory.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Personal Attributes: High level of attention to detail; excellent communication skills; ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Additional qualifications or training in specialized areas of biomedical science.
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
