Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust seeks a 12-month locum consultant in respiratory medicine to cover ward and GIM on-call duties with outpatient clinics. A focus on suspected lung cancer, pleural procedures, and thoracic interventional diagnostics (EBUS/bronchoscopy) is expected.

An interest in ILD to lead the developing pathway is highly desirable. The post requires CCT in general and respiratory medicine or within six months of interview, and Full GMC registration.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent.
• Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians.
• Full GMC registration with licence to practise; name on Specialist Register on taking up the appointment, or CCT within 6 months of interview date.

Responsibilities

• Respiratory ward cover.
• Outpatient clinics for routine, urgent and suspected lung cancer.
• Advice and guidance to primary care.
• Pleural procedures.
• EBUS, bronchoscopy and other thoracic interventional diagnostic procedures.
• GIM on-call cover.
