Job description

I am recruiting for aMedical Registrar with experience in Geriatric Medicine or a Geriatric Service for 6 months locum cover at the ICOP (Integrated Care Programme for Older People)

ICOP is a day service operating from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (No overtime and no on-call required)

The duties of the ICPOP Registar include:

  • Completing Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment ( CGA) with focus on medical, cognitive, psychological, and social domains, and supporting nursing/allied staff to do the same from initial assessment to discharge
  • Diagnosing and managing acute/chronic medical conditions present in older people including falls, reduced mobility, polypharmacy, and frailty syndromes
  • Formulating comprehensive care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Supporting the Consultant on site through handover
  • Liaising with GPs and writing referrals for Outpatient Department assessment, booking and interpretation of radiology, ECG and bloodwork, writing of prescriptions

Essential requirements:

  • IMC registration
  • OET/IELTS certificate (if applicable)
  • Relevant Irish/UK/EU experience
  • MRCPI or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Right to work in Ireland
