We require casual health professionals registered with AHPRA and AIN and PCA to carry out workplace surveillance COVID-19 testing.

Workplace COVID-19 Tester, Job Ref: 1167727

Location: Newcastle, NSW

Salary: up to $33 – $50 per hour + super. Dependent on qualification.

Role Overview

As a registered health professional, you will support workplaces to conduct daily surveillance COVID-19 testing on their workforce. You will work efficiently, autonomously, and collaboratively, possibly as the sole health professional or part of a team. Non-AHPRA registered staff may assist under your guidance.

Eligible Professions
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practice
  • Dental (excluding dental therapist, hygienist, prosthetist, oral health therapist)
  • Medical
  • Medical radiation practice
  • Nursing – Registered Nurse (RN), Enrolled Nurse (EN), or Enrolled Endorsed Nurse (EEN)
  • Midwifery
  • Occupational therapy
  • Optometry
  • Pharmacy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Podiatry
  • Psychology
Assistants

Non-AHPRA registered assistants such as Assistance in Nursing (AIN) and Personal Care Assistants (PCA) are also required, with relevant experience and certificates in PPE and infection control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform COVID-19 tests by collecting nose and throat samples
  • Handle testing equipment
  • Enter data and manage test results using specialized software
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain hand hygiene
Essential Criteria
  • Competent in PPE doffing and donning
  • Registered with AHPRA
  • Certificates in infection control and hand hygiene
  • Current CPR certificate
  • Proof of immunization, including flu vaccination
  • Recent National Police check (within 12 months)
  • Proof of Australian working rights
  • Excellent communication skills
