Job description

Prison Nurse – Exeter

Dream Medical are currently working with HMP service in Exeter in recruiting locum Prison Nurses to cover ongoing rotas for the foreseeable future. The Prison just based in Exeter are looking for Prison cleared nurses both RGN and RMN's to commence ASAP covering ad hoc ongoing shifts.

You will be required to be ILS trained RGN or RMN prison cleared with CTC or Cat A-C clearance in place to be considered. This Client does all fall outside IR35 and we can process payments weekly without fail to Limited Companies (LTD).

The Prison Nurse working will focus on the delivery of high quality, safe and effective health care for offenders of different ages and healthcare needs. Nurses in this role will:

  1. assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based care in collaboration with service users and the wider multi-disciplinary team;
  2. deliver nursing care through a variety of different models such as inpatient care and nurse-led clinics;
  3. contribute to the multi-disciplinary approach of offender healthcare delivery, working collaboratively with all other agencies and sectors to improve outcomes in the health and well-being of offenders;
  4. support service users to manage their own conditions by helping them build knowledge, skills and confidence;
  5. focus on health promotion and support service users to be responsible for their own health;
  6. provide emergency / urgent care to service users and ensure safe onward referral as necessary.
