An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experiencedPrincipal Social Care Lawyerto join a South West-based Local Authority on a locum basis,starting ASAP. This role is offered for an initial term of6 months,with hybrid working arrangements available.

This position will involve managing a combined Childcare and Adult Social Care team.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

• Managing and developing a team of solicitors and legal assistants
• Carrying out appraisals, one to one’s and motivational meetings
• Setting, monitoring and collating targets and KPIs
• To support, mentor and monitor junior staff
• Providing expert legal advice on childcare and adult social care matters
• Representing the council in respect of the above
• Advising on complex legal matters
• Liaising with senior stakeholders and interested parties

An attractive hourly rate of between£70-£75 per hourdepending on experience (inside IR35) is available for this position.
