Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Practice Nurses to work in Kinlochbervie across multiple primary care services. The role offers fully flexible sessional work with options for weekday, evening, or weekend sessions and adhoc or ongoing bookings.

The successful nurse will be NMC-registered with primary care experience and may have immunisation or cytology training. Enhanced DBS is required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Delivering treatment room clinics including wound care and dressings.

• Performing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Recording accurate clinical notes for each service.

You will support multiple primary care teams through a mix of routine procedures, long‑term condition reviews and general nursing tasks. Each service provides clear protocols and structured workflows, ensuring a consistent and well‑supported working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering treatment room clinics including wound care and dressings
• Supporting chronic disease management within established care plans
• Carrying out immunisations for adults and children (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests where cytology-trained
• Performing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Recording accurate clinical notes for each service
• Assisting with general nursing duties as required

Requirements

• NMC-registered Nurse with primary care experience
• Immunisation and cytology training beneficial
• Confident in routine nursing tasks and treatment room clinics
• Able to adapt to different clinical teams and service structures
• Familiarity with common primary care systems
