Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work at a GP practice in Stroud. The role suits a nurse with strong assessment skills to deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. Long-term bookings and both regular/ad-hoc sessions are available.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered Nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.
