Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work in Anstruther, providing flexible sessional work across community health settings and GP surgeries. The role combines treatment room duties, clinical reviews, and preventative health activities in a varied schedule.

You will support routine clinics, perform immunisations where trained, assist with NHS Health Checks, and maintain accurate records across systems, adapting to different clinical environments with strong patient communication.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration and community/primary care experience.
• Immunisation experience is advantageous.
• Cytology experience is advantageous.
• Confident in routine treatment room work.
• Able to adapt quickly to new clinical environments.
• Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Run treatment room clinics including wound care and general nursing procedures.
• Support chronic disease and long-term condition reviews.
• Administer adult and childhood immunisations (if trained).
• Perform smear tests where qualified.
• Conduct NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Maintain accurate documentation across clinical systems.
• Provide general clinical support to GPs and Nurses.
