Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a skilled Practice Nurse to work with a GP practice in Matlock. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations, and routine clinic sessions in a structured primary care setting.

You will deliver clinical reviews, contribute to preventative health, and maintain clear documentation in the clinical system. NMC registration and experience in primary care are essential, with DBS clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• NMC registration and primary care experience are required.
• Immunisation & cytology training are desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiar with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision systems.
• Enhanced DBS certificate.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
