Locum Ready is seeking a skilled Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Ely on a locum basis. The role emphasizes thorough assessments, chronic disease reviews and routine clinic procedures in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, immunisations (if trained), wound care and health checks, with documentation in EMIS, SystmOne or Vision. NMC registration and Enhanced DBS are required or desirable.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children's immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system
