Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GP practice Locum Practice Nurse in Warwick to deliver chronic disease reviews and run routine nursing clinics within a supportive primary care team.

You will perform wound care, immunisations (if trained), smear tests, health checks and recalls, documenting clearly in the EMIS/SystmOne/Vision system while maintaining high patient care standards.

Regular or ad-hoc sessions with morning and afternoon availability, long-term bookings offered in a well-organised practice.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room work.

Responsibilities

• Conducts chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes, or hypertension.
• Performs wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carries out immunisations and smear tests if trained.
• Completes NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manages results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documents clearly in the clinical system.

This role is ideal for a Practice Nurse with strong assessment skills who can confidently deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension

• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments

Requirements
