Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Sudbury. This role suits a nurse with strong assessment skills capable of delivering chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. Regular or ad-hoc sessions with long-term bookings are available.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Excellent patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiar with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children's immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system

Requirements
