Job summary

We are looking to appoint a WTE Locum Consultant Histopathologist – Paediatric & Perinatal Pathology, based at the Sheffield Children's Hospital. The post offers a flexible approach to work and opportunities for training, with a total annual salary in the NHS pay band £113,565 to £150,569.

The role includes paediatric/perinatal autopsy services, rota contribution, and participation in multidisciplinary case discussions with clinical colleagues to maintain a high-quality diagnostic service.

Qualifications

• Registered with GMC or eligible for registration and licence to practise.
• FRCPath (Paediatric & Perinatal) or equivalent higher qualification.
• MD or PhD or equivalent.
• Eligible for specialist register or within 6 months of CCT at interview.

Responsibilities

• Provide paediatric/perinatal autopsy services as agreed, including medico-legal autopsies for HM Coroner.
• Contribute to paediatric and perinatal autopsy rota and attend relevant meetings.
• Liaise with clinical colleagues to ensure a high-quality diagnostic service.
