A Unique Company
As the UK's leading provider of optical care at home, we are searching for passionate Locum optometrists to join us at the forefront of domiciliary.
Driven by our belief that clinically excellent eye care should be accessible and affordable for all, we use the latest mobile technology and processes to change people's lives for the better.
We deliver our life-changing service right across the UK, supporting the NHS to provide vital eye care to people who may struggle to get to the high street unaided.
As one of our Optometrists covering the Scottish Borders and surrounding areas, your working location will vary depending on patient demand. For example, one week you may be working across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, while the following week you could be based around Berwick-upon-Tweed. You may also cover areas such as Kirkcaldy, Fife, Perth and Kinross.
You won't be expected to travel across the entire region every day. Your diary is carefully planned so that patient appointments are grouped within the same local area wherever possible. You'll typically see 6-8 patients per day, with relatively short journeys between appointments.
Although your overall coverage area spans the wider Central Belt and Scottish Borders, you'll generally spend each day working within one local cluster. This helps to keep travel manageable and your working day as efficient as possible.
All of our Locum Optometrists are provided with a full equipment kit, along with comprehensive training to ensure you feel confident before working independently.
The only exceptions are the ophthalmoscope and retinoscope, which you will be expected to provide yourself. Please ensure both are in good working order before your start date.
