Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking Nurse Practitioners for Newcastleton with fully flexible sessional work across primary care services. You will run NP-led clinics, assess patients, manage minor illnesses, and provide triage by phone or in person.

Successful candidates will have RN/NP registration with relevant clinical background; independent prescribing is desirable. DBS enhanced is preferred to support safe, local practice in community settings.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Practitioner with relevant clinical background.
• Independent Prescribing qualification desirable.
• Experience in GP, urgent care, walk-in or community settings.
• Strong assessment and decision-making skills.
• Adaptability when working across different clinical environments.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Running independent NP clinics across primary care services.
• Managing minor illness presentations and routine patient assessments.
• Providing telephone or face-to-face triage.
• Prescribing within scope (if qualified).
• Handling clinical actions such as results and medication reviews.
• Recording accurate and compliant clinical notes.
• Supporting wider clinical teams where required.
