Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is seeking a locum consultant radiologist with a special interest in musculoskeletal imaging for 12 months. The role focuses on reporting MSK MRI, MSK ultrasound and injections, and participation in rheumatology and orthopaedic MDTs, alongside general CT/MRI reporting and acute CT support.

The post includes on-call duties (paediatric emergencies) and opportunities to teach and supervise trainees, with potential expansion to seven-day service in the future.

Qualifications

• FRCR fellowship and GMC Specialist Register eligibility.
• CCT or equivalent confirmed by AAC date.
• Experience teaching medical trainees and NHS professionals.
• Wide training in cross-sectional radiology and ultrasound.
• Experience in MSK imaging and ultrasound-guided injections.

Responsibilities

• Report MSK MRI.
• Perform MSK ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections.
• Take part in rheumatology and orthopaedic MDTs.
• Report general CT and MRI including acute CT.
• Cover the on-call service, including paediatric emergencies.
• Teach undergraduates, trainees and other staff.
• Act as clinical supervisor and appraiser when delegated.
• Contribute to audit and governance, including NICE guidance.
• Contribute to research and audits where possible.
• Collaborate with managers on business planning and cost improvement.
