Healthcare Assistant – Hospital Wards

Dream Medical are working with a Hospital in the Bath area and require an experienced Healthcare Assistant to cover regular ad-hoc sessions within a 28 bedded ward which provides rehabilitation and care to elderly patients.
Your role will be to assist the nurses and healthcare professionals in providing care and support to patients and their families as well as:

  1. Assisting patients with personal hygiene care
  2. Reporting and observing the patient's condition, and recording on the appropriate charts
  3. Maintaining dignity and confidentiality at all times
  4. Answering enquiries from relatives and patients
  5. Advising patients and offering emotional support
  6. Dressing changes for wounds
  7. Blood taking for samples
  8. Various swabs and urine samples
  9. Referrals to appropriate departments
  10. Blood pressure and glucose monitoring

All applicants must have at least 6 months experience of working on a Hospital ward and the clinical skill sets mentioned above. You will need an Enhanced DBS issued within 1 year.
