Job summary

Royal College of General Practitioners is seeking a Locum GP for September cover near Westbury. The practice prefers regular sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, but some flexibility is available. Focus will be on clinical acute appointments and same‑day presentations with no home visits or shared admin.

Sessions are two blocks of four hours, starting around 8:30 and finishing by 5:30. The GP must be GMC registered and listed on the UK Performers List.

Qualifications

• Must be GMC-registered as a General Practitioner.
• Be on UK Performers List.
• Experience with face-to-face and telephone appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical GP appointments including acute and on‑the‑day presentations.
• No home visits or shared admin duties.
• Work 2 x 4 hour sessions per day with session hours 8:30–5:30.
• Face-to-face and telephone consultations.

Locum GP – September cover, near Westbury

Background –

This is a great opportunity for a Locum GP to join a highly respected GP practice for a number of days during the month of September. The practice is ideally looking for a degree of continuity with desired days being Tuesday, Thursday and Friday but may be able to offer some flexibility around other days.

It’s an opportunity to focus purely on clinical appointments, predominantly acute, on the day presentations and self-generated admin with no expectation around any home visits, shared practice admin or Duty rota.

Rate –

£90 per hour

The Practice –

• Very Forward-thinking and passionate practice
• Strong CQC history
• Work alongside a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team (including GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, Pharmacy Techs, etc)
• SystmOne practice
• Flexible around hours

Your Role –

• Desired but not essential days – Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
• Sessions are: 2 x 4 hour sessions
• Hours between 8:30-5:30 with flexibility on exact start/finish times within these hours
• 15 patients per session
• Face-to-face and telephone appointments
• No home visits, shared admin or duty expectation
• You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK Performers List
