Job summary

Locum Ready in Wallasey is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice on a flexible locum basis. You will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties, and contribute to high-quality care delivery.

The role covers observations, treatment room support, phlebotomy (if trained), ECGs, and updating records in the clinical system. DBS enhanced clearance is required; ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions available, mornings and/or afternoons.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable performing clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
