Locum GP Lead Practice Pharmacist (Band 8a) – South London – June Start
Are you an experienced Band 8a Pharmacist looking for a dynamic role in primary care? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated GP Lead Practice Pharmacist to join a leading PCN in South London on a locum basis starting in June!
Position: GP Lead Practice Pharmacist (Band 8a)
Location: South London
Start Date: June 2025
Duration: Ongoing
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (30-minute lunch)
Hourly Rate: £32 – £40 (via LTD or Umbrella)

You’ll take a lead clinical role across several practices within a well-established PCN. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Running structured medication reviews with a focus on high-risk drug monitoring and long-term conditions such as hypertension, COPD, asthma, and mental health
Independent prescribing to optimise patient outcomes and reduce GP workload
Working collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
Supporting QOF delivery and PCN targets
Contributing to clinical audits, guideline implementation, and safer prescribing initiatives
GPhC-registered Pharmacist with Independent Prescriber status
Previous experience in a GP surgery or PCN setting
Confidence in running patient-facing clinics autonomously
Ideally enrolled on (or completed) the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway
Strong clinical knowledge and documentation skills
