Job Description

Are you a Band 8a GP Lead Practice Pharmacist looking for a rewarding locum role in Essex? We have an exciting opportunity for you!

Job Title: GP Lead Practice Pharmacist (Band 8a)

Duration: Ongoing

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (30-minute break)

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: Ongoing

Rate of Pay: £32–£42 per hour (LTD or Umbrella)

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Manage long-term conditions in a primary care setting as a GP Lead Practice Pharmacist.
• Run clinical review clinics focused on asthma, COPD, hypertension, and mental health.
• Prescribe independently and optimise patient outcomes through personalised medication reviews.
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses, and other primary care professionals.
• Deliver high-quality care aligned with national guidelines.
• Keep accurate clinical documentation and support QOF-related activity.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A current GPhC registration as a pharmacist.
• Experience working in a primary care pharmacy setting.
• Confidence running clinics and managing long-term conditions.
• Completion of or enrolment on the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (ideal).
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, offering ongoing locum work with the possibility of remote elements. Flexibility and long-term potential for the right candidate.
