Dream Medical is seeking locum GPs for a client in Havant to work in a traditional surgery. The post-holder will manage a caseload and address a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring high standards of care for all patients.

Clinical responsibilities include:

  1. Undertaking duties such as surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, signing repeat prescriptions, and managing queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely manner.
  2. Making autonomous, professional decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare workers.
  3. Assessing health care needs of patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed problems.
  4. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  5. Developing care plans in line with current practice protocols, in consultation with patients.
  6. Providing counselling and health education.
  7. Admitting or discharging patients and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
  8. Recording consultation notes clearly and contemporaneously, using relevant clinical system templates.
  9. Collecting data for audits.
  10. Issuing computer-generated prescriptions, avoiding handwritten ones whenever possible.
  11. Prescribing according to the practice formulary or generically when appropriate.

The role involves all normal GP duties within primary care, with additional responsibilities for the smooth running of the practice and maintaining standards required by a CQC-registered healthcare organization, whether as a Partner (salaried or full-time).
