Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking GMC-registered General Practitioners for flexible locum assignments in Calne and surrounding areas. You will provide urgent access appointments, routine reviews and telephone triage across multiple primary care settings, with autonomy and varied clinical environments.

These sessions offer weekday, evening or weekend shifts, with options for regular ongoing work or ad-hoc cover, supported by collaborative clinical teams and clear workflows to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered GP is required.
• Inclusion on NHS Performers List is required.
• Experience in GP, urgent care or community primary care settings preferred.
• Strong clinical reasoning and excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Managing urgent and routine GP clinics across primary care settings.
• Conducting telephone consultations and triage.
• Assessing acute, chronic and undifferentiated presentations.
• Prescribing within scope and addressing medication queries.
• Reviewing results, referrals and follow-up actions.
• Recording accurate clinical notes in service-specific systems.
• Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.
