Job summary

NHS Scotland invites a locum GP to join a small rural practice in Dufftown, Moray, Scotland, for 3–4 sessions per week over 2–3 months. The role covers annual and sick leave, with flexibility in days and hours.

The team provides high-quality care with 15-minute appointments and strong community ties. The practice is remote rural and features a dispensing branch, Training Practice for GP ST1-3, and a supportive multidisciplinary team including Practice Nurse, Pharmacy, HCA and First Contact

Qualifications

• GP with licence to practice in the UK.
• Experience in rural/general practice is preferred.
• Ability to cover short-term leave including annual/sick leave.

Responsibilities

• Provide general practice care in a small rural setting.
• Cover 3–4 sessions per week for 2–3 months as locum.
• Deliver same/next day or book-ahead appointments with 15-minute slots.

Hello and Welcome - we are looking for a short-term locum to join our small rural practice in beautiful Dufftown, Moray, Scotland.

The position is for 3-4 sessions a week for 2-3 months, to cover annual leave and sick leave. We can be flexible in days and hours worked. We are a small and friendly team who know our community well and provide a high level of care.

We offer a mix of same day, next day and book ahead appointments, we do not use E-Consult and are able to offer good patient access. Our appointments are 15 minutes.

Remote rural

• Small rural practice with a dispensing branch surgery in Tomintoul
• Training Practice for GP ST1-3
• 4 GP partners and 2 salaried GP’s
• VISION and Docman clinical systems
• Practice Nurse, Pharmacy, HCA and First Contact Physiotherapy Input
• Small close knit team
Attached Community Hospital (no locum responsibility)
• Friendly and experienced Administrative Team
• Excellent support from Speyside Community Nursing Team
