Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GMC-registered General Practitioner to work in a GP practice in Stevenage. The role offers flexible, ad-hoc or regular sessions with a clear daily workflow and strong administrative support.

You will manage a varied caseload, perform patient assessments, triage and provide continuity of care, using EMIS or SystmOne, with indemnity and DBS in place. The practice emphasises team-based care and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered General Practitioner with NHS Performers List (or eligible).
• Strong clinical decision-making and clear communication.
• Experience in UK primary care.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics.
• Managing acute presentations and complex cases.
• Telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow.
• Reviewing investigations and medication queries.
• Prescribing safely and appropriately.
• Documenting consultations in the clinical system.
• Supporting the practice with follow-up tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries
• Prescribing safely and appropriately
• Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks

Requirements

• GMC-registered General Practitioner
• Active inclusion on the NHS Performers List
• Recent UK primary care experience
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern
