Locum Ready is seeking a Locum General Practitioner to work with a GP practice in St Helens. You will manage a varied caseload, deliver high-quality patient assessments and provide continuity where required in a supportive primary care setting.

The role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, with full-day or half-day availability and potential for long-term arrangements, backed by strong administrative support and established clinical workflows.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered General Practitioner with UK practice experience.
• Active NHS Performers List registration.
• Recent UK primary care experience.
• Familiar with EMIS or SystmOne.
• Hold valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Run routine and urgent GP clinics.
• Manage acute presentations and complex cases.
• Provide telephone consultations and triage.
• Review investigations, results and medication queries.
• Prescribe safely and appropriately.
• Document consultations in the clinical system.
• Support the practice with clinical actions and follow-ups.

Key Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics

• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries
• Prescribing safely and appropriately
• Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks

Requirements

• GMC-registered General Practitioner
• Active inclusion on the NHS Performers List
• Recent UK primary care experience
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS
