Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum General Practitioner to work in a GP practice in Bishopbriggs. This role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions with a supportive team and clear daily workflows.

You will deliver high-quality patient assessments, manage a varied caseload and provide continuity where required, in a practice with strong admin support and structured clinical processes.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered General Practitioner with active NHS Performers List.
• Recent UK primary care experience and strong clinical decision-making.
• Familiarity with EMIS or SystmOne and valid indemnity plus Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Run routine GP clinics and manage acute presentations.
• Provide telephone triage and consultations.
• Review investigations and medications; document consultations clearly.
• Prescribe safely and ensure follow-up as needed.
• Support the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks.

You will manage a varied caseload, deliver high-quality patient assessments and provide continuity where required. The practice offers strong administrative support, established clinical workflows and a team-focused approach to patient care, ensuring efficient and manageable session delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics
• Managing acute presentations and complex cases
• Providing telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow
• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries
• Prescribing safely and appropriately
• Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks

Requirements

• GMC-registered General Practitioner
• Active inclusion on the NHS Performers List
• Recent UK primary care experience
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS
