A leading healthcare provider in Salford is looking for a Paediatrician to join their team. This role involves leading the paediatric diabetes service and providing general paediatric care across various locations. The ideal candidate will have a CCT in Paediatrics or be within 6 months of their CCT. The position offers flexible working, a competitive benefits package, and opportunities for career progression.
The post-holder will join a team of general paediatricians providing services for Salford children and will lead the paediatric diabetes service. Clinics are primarily held at Pendleton Gateway, but the post may require delivering services at other health and social care centres across Salford in Walkden, Eccles, or Swinton.
Pendleton Gateway is a dedicated children’s outpatient service hosting secondary care paediatric outpatient clinics, specialist clinics for dermatology and ENT, the district child and adolescent mental health service, paediatric audiology, and allied health professional facilities. Diagnostic services such as X-ray and ultrasound are available onsite, along with a daily phlebotomy service and specimen transport to Salford Royal Hospital laboratories. Paediatric MRI scans are accessible at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
The post-holder will supervise an ANP, triage incoming referrals, and deliver general paediatric and paediatric diabetes clinics. They will lead the paediatric diabetes team and may explore out-of-hours work within the NCA general paediatric acute services.
While the role is currently based in Salford, ongoing service development across the NCA may require working at any NCA site. The position involves a remote on-call commitment for diabetes across the NCA. Applicants within 6 months of their CCT may apply in an acting-up capacity.
