A legal practice in Birmingham is seeking a Locum Employment Solicitor to handle Employment Tribunal claims and provide expert advice on employment law. This temporary role offers a day rate between £350 and £500, with a hybrid working model of 2 days in-office and 3 days remote. Job description

Job Title: Locum Employment SolicitorLocation: Birmingham - 2 days in office and 3 days working from homeDay rate: £350 - £500 per day (dependent on experience)

Key responsibilities of an Locum Employment Solicitor:

  • Handling Employment Tribunal claims on behalf of Respondents, including drafting documentation, preparing for hearings, and providing advocacy where appropriate
  • Providing advice on employment status, contractual arrangements, and TUPE transfers
  • Supporting clients with employee relations matters, such as disciplinary processes, grievances, whistleblowing concerns, and discrimination issues
  • Advising on workforce reorganisations, redundancy processes, and negotiating settlement agreements
  • Developing strong, collaborative relationships with clients who are creating meaningful impact
  • Drafting and advising on employment contracts, HR policies, and internal procedures
  • In-depth expertise in both contentious and non-contentious aspects of employment law
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
