A Midlands based Local Authority is seeking a Locum Employment Lawyer for a remote full-time position, offering up to £55 per hour. The ideal candidate will handle Employment Law issues, providing critical advice to Council managers while working on a caseload with potential for extension beyond three months. This role allows for flexibility in working arrangements, emphasizing the importance of expertise in the field.

Qualifications

• Experience in handling Employment Law matters.
• Demonstrated prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a high standard of Employment work and provide HR advice.
• Manage a caseload involving various discrimination claims.
• Draft ET3’s and defend claims related to Equal Pay and Whistle Blowing.

The ideal candidate will have experience in handling inEmployment Law mattersand can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf ofLocal Authorities.

Duties may include:

• Conducting a high standard of Employment work and have TUPE knowledge
• Providing advice to Senior Managers in Council departments and other Officers and staff in HR on a wide range of employment law issues and claims made against the Authority
• Conducting a caseload which may include claims relating to Sex discrimination, Race Discrimination, Unfair Dismissal, Constructive Dismissal, Disability Discrimination, Age Discrimination and Redundancy
• Drafting ET3’s and defending Equal Pay Claims, Whistle Blowing Claims and Disability Claims
