Are you a CWD Social Worker ready to make a difference in Bedfordshire?
We’re recruiting for a high-impact locum role within a dedicated team offering excellent pay, ongoing support, and long-term prospects.

Job Title: Social Worker - Children with Disabilities
Location: Bedfordshire
Duration: 6-month initial contract (strong chance of extension)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £36 to £39 per hour (depending on experience)

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a CWD Social Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families, ensuring their needs are met through high-quality, person-centred care and safeguarding interventions. You'll manage a varied caseload of complex cases, working collaboratively across services to promote independence, inclusion, and positive long-term outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

Undertaking holistic assessments of children with disabilities, including statutory assessments under the Children Act

Developing and reviewing care and support plans, including Child in Need and Child Protection plans

Working in close partnership with families, schools, health professionals, and voluntary services

Preparing clear, evidence-based reports for reviews, panels, and court where required

Advocating for children’s rights and ensuring their voices are central to care planning

Participating in multi-agency safeguarding processes and strategy discussions

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

A recognised Social Work qualification (BA, MA, DipSW, etc.)

Registration with Social Work England

At least 2 years’ post-qualifying experience within children's social care, ideally with CWD experience

A strong understanding of SEND legislation, disability rights, and safeguarding protocols

Excellent communication, risk assessment, and care planning skills

The ability to work with empathy, resilience, and cultural sensitivity under pressure

Full-time hours (37.5 per week)

Monday to Friday schedule

6-month rolling contract with ongoing extension potential

Stable team with excellent leadership and support
