Locum Consultant Urologist Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Join to apply for the Locum Consultant Urologist role at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with Katalysysts Consulting.

This is a new role within the Urology department. The successful candidate will join a team of four Consultant Urologists, including full-time, part-time, and a joint appointment with North Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. The department is supported by an Associate Specialist and has a team of six registrars, including trainees from the southwest deanery.

The department offers services in various urological subspecialties, including Urolift, bipolar TURP, Holep, stone surgery, functional urology, andrology, paediatric surgery, and BPH surgery.

The role involves multidisciplinary team working, providing evidence-based patient care, teaching, supervision, and participation in clinical audits. The post also includes responsibilities for clinical governance, leadership, and contributing to service improvements.

All team members participate in a Consultant of the Week rota, with a 24/7 on-call service starting October 2025. The department values its friendly atmosphere, good working relationships, and commitment to the NHS values.

Key responsibilities include clinical duties, management, leadership, clinical governance, and audit activities, with a focus on maintaining high standards of care and service development.
