Job description

Radiologist - Breast Imaging at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

The highly regarded and forward-thinking radiology department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a breast imaging Radiologist in response to growing demand for our services. The role will involve exposure to our screening and symptomatic services.

We are seeking 1 radiologist to join our team, based at the Breast Screening Unit at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.

Our department is in an exciting transition phase, with ongoing equipment replacement involving DBT machines and department refurbishment.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting on breast and general radiology cases, with the level of responsibility depending on experience.
  • Contributing to departmental activities, including discrepancy meetings, consultant meetings, and quarterly strategy meetings, which are largely online.
  • Potential work across multiple sites (Basingstoke, Winchester, Andover), with details to be outlined in a job plan.

Department Facilities:

  • Four static mammography machines and three mobile breast screening vans.
  • Five static CT scanners and three MRI scanners.
  • Private imaging facility at Candover Clinic offering general X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and MRI.
  • Integrated systems: Insignia PACS, CRIS, and Talking Point Voice Recognition (currently being upgraded).

All radiologists are encouraged to contribute to departmental management, with SPA time allocated based on contribution.
