Qualifications

  • GMC license to practise required.
  • Experience in Renal Medicine with NHS desired.
  • Specialist registration in Renal Medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer clinic operations and oversee patient referrals.
  • Participate in teaching and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Manage on-call duties as per the 1:8 schedule.

Job Description:

The Nephrology department based within a trust in Wales are looking for a Locum Consultant in Renal Medicine to start as soon as possible for 3 months in the first instance.

Core working hours will be Monday – Friday, 09:00-17:00. There will be a 1:8 on-call and cross-site cover.

Non on-call week proposed job plan (7/8):

Monday

09:00-10:00 – Handover
10:00-13:00 – Admin
13:00-17:00 – OPD Clinic

Tuesday

09:00-14:00 – Dialysis Unit (monthly, otherwise SPA)
09:00-11:30 – PD clinic (once a month approx.)
11:30 – MDT
12:00-13:00 – travel to another site.
13:00- 17:00 – ward referrals and clinic.

Non-clinical day unless on-call

Thursday

08:15-09:00 – Teaching
09:00 – Transplant OPD (most weeks or admin/SPA/Dialysis Unit cover if needed).
PM – admin/SPA.

Friday

08:00 – travel to another site.
09:00-12:30 – OPD
PM – Ward referrals, admin/SPA.
