Locum Consultant Radiologist (Interventional Radiology)

Applications are invited for the post of a full-time locum consultant interventional radiologist at the Department of Radiology at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post is to cover sabbatical leave and is fixed term until February 2026 with possible extension.

The Department forms part of one of the most dynamic University Teaching Hospitals in the country, with an excellent reputation in patient care, research and development, and staff training/education.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities of this post include reporting vascular imaging and performing interventional radiology including vascular and non vascular work, participating in specialist NCIR on call and supporting MDTs and teaching.

To be eligible to apply for this position it is essential that you hold full GMC registration, FRCR or equivalent and are on the specialist register for clinical radiology.

Qualifications
  • FRCR or equivalent.
  • Accreditation in Clinical Radiology and on the specialist register
  • Full GMC registration
  • MRCP/FRCS
  • Capable of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Enthusiasm for service development and teaching
Experience
  • Extensive Interventional Radiology experience including vascular and non-vascular work as documented by specialist training or experience at consultant level.
  • Awareness of the role of research in clinical practice.
  • Further area of interest to compliment current service
Circumstances
  • Flexible outlook on working hours.
  • Must live within a 15-mile radius of the base Trust or 30 minutes travelling time.
  • Full Driving License.
Communications and Language Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical colleagues, colleagues in pathology and support staff.
