Overview

A Vacancy at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.

This is a full time 12 month maternity cover post to ensure the acute Paediatric department at Croydon University Hospital continues to deliver excellent high quality, patient centred, and responsive care. We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic colleague to join our Paediatric Department.

General paediatrics on call (including the level 2 neonatal unit) is a requirement of the post. A key component of this job is also to develop the paediatric asthma service and applicants with an interest in asthma (ideally having completed Respiratory SPIN module of the RCPCH) are encouraged to apply. Applications will also be considered from individuals with a CCT (or within 6 months of CCT date at the time of interview) or with a Certificate of Equivalence of Specialist Registration (CESR).

Responsibilities
  • Provide paediatric and neonatal care and this includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department.
  • Responsible for covering colleagues’ periods of annual leave and short-term sickness.
  • Clinical supervision of junior medical staff as a shared responsibility with other consultant colleagues.
  • Responsible for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contributing to Continuing Medical Education and clinical governance initiatives.
